Flex Wind employs around 550 employees globally, with offices in Brazil, Argentina, Poland, South Africa, and Denmark. Flex Wind’s majority owner is the Danish Equity fund, Bagger Sorensen Equity, who aims at creating long-term partnerships. Flex Wind’s mission is to fulfill the needs of its clients with an excellent and tailored service in the renewable energy industry. We want to refocus and develop our service business as well as looking into opportunities for acquisitive growth in the offshore wind industry.
Key characteristics of the company have always been our focus on innovation, quality, and knowledge transfer to make the organization flexible in providing new services to clients. As we expand our horizons to North America, we are looking for a leader to join our team as General Manager.
Key Responsibilities
As General Manager for North America, you will be responsible for setting the overall strategic direction and targets for the Flex Wind business in North America. You are expected to elevate the go-to-market strategy and ensure that Flex Wind develops its position as well as delivers reasonable growth rates in the North America onshore wind turbine installation & service market.
Your main tasks include:
- Participate in the identification and acquisition of a target company in North America that focuses on the wind turbines installation & service market (primarily onshore)
- Following the closure of the acquisition, GM will take over the overall leadership position in the target company
- Setting and driving the overall strategic direction and targets for the North American organization in line with the 2025 Flex Wind strategy
- P&L responsible for the entire business in North America
- Ensuring integration and alignment with the Flex Wind Group– including HR, Finance, Legal & Operations
- Ensuring professionalism across the entire North American organization regarding contract management, revenue mgt., pricing, negotiation, after-sales & operations
- Leading and developing the team and ensuring the development of present and future needs of capabilities within the North American organization
- Close project follow-up and delivering on profit targets
What You Bring
- 5-10 years of commercial experience in a technical industry but not limited to the wind industry. Demonstrated knowledge of business and commercial management and a strong record of driving sales and commercial functions, preferable from a large company
- Experience working with strategic commercial positioning and displaying an M&A mindset
- Experience with complex contracts, negotiation, contract revenue, and commercialization thereof
- An understanding of operational excellence including execution of major projects
- Experience within development of initiatives that drives operational improvements
- Experience building, motivating, and developing teams
