Sales Engineer, - DESMI

Founded in 1834, DESMI is one of Denmark’s oldest companies, and a global leader in the development, manufacturing, and service of pumps and pumping solutions for various industries, including the marine, industrial, defense, and utility industries. With 1000+ employees globally, DESMI supplies its pumps and systems to more than 100 countries via subsidiary and distribution networks. This position will be based remotely in Canada.
The Sales Engineer will be responsible for technical sales. Possibly some technical support to internal stakeholders and external customers, thereby fostering strong relationships with all parties. In this position, you will play a crucial role in driving DESMI’s sales activities. You will play a pivotal role in managing RFP opportunities, ultimately securing contracts, and contributing to the overall growth of the organization.
The ideal candidate will thrive in a customer-facing environment, have experience with rotating equipment, knowledge of pumps is an advantage, and experience managing RFQ processes. Key Responsibilities
As the Sales Engineer, your main responsibility for a smooth sales cycle, thereby contributing to the growth of the overall organization. Other responsibilities include:
- Achieve sales objectives with a focus on revenue and profitability
- Lead the RFQ process and ensure accurate, on-time delivery of quotes
- Monitor the sales pipeline to drive new sales
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives to ensure a smooth customer experience and recurring business
- Provide technical support to internal and external stakeholders
- Stay up to date on market conditions such as competitors, and products to create new business opportunities
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting
- Attend industry-specific trade shows and conferences to promote DESMI
- Carry out administrative tasks related to sales e.g. CRM tool
What You Bring
- A bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a technical field, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
- 3 plus years of prior marine pump sales experience is a must
- Problem-solving skills, ability to identify customer’s pain
- Solid experience working in CRM tools, preferably Salesforce
- Able to travel 25% a year
- A valid driver’s license
- Bilingual English and French professional proficiency
