Chief Operating Officer
Kyoto Group is a leading thermal battery company committed to decarbonizing industrial heat with its innovative solutions. These solutions enable industries to replace fossil fuels with clean electricity for heat production—without compromising efficiency, stability or cost.
Kyoto Group is now looking for a Chief Operating Officer to be in charge of scaling operational excellence across its growing renewable energy platform. You will work closely with the CEO and executive leadership to translate the company’s strategic vision into seamless execution, ensuring that all operational functions are aligned, efficient and driving impact. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of a purpose-driven company, accelerating the transition to a low-carbon economy.
The role reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and is based at Kyoto Group’s office in Seville, Spain. Travel to sites, suppliers, manufacturers and customers is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee day-to-day operations across all business functions, ensuring efficiency, scalability and alignment with strategic goals.
- Develop and implement operational strategies that support growth and enhance performance across the organization.
- Collaborate with the executive team to shape long-term business planning and drive cross-functional execution.
- Build and lead high-performing teams, fostering a culture of accountability, agility, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor key operational metrics, analyse performance, and drive data-informed decision-making.
- Oversee budgeting, resource allocation, and risk management to ensure operational sustainability.
- Support international expansion, supply chain optimization, and new market entry strategies.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of senior operational leadership experience, ideally in renewable energy, cleantech or a related high-growth sector.
- Experience in managing suppliers and partners as well as running a pre-assembly factory setup.
- Experience in overseeing selected and managed sub-suppliers for transport, installation and commissioning.
- Proven track record of scaling operations and leading through rapid growth or transformation.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing complex budgets and operational plans.
- Exceptional leadership, people management and communication skills.
- Experience with strategic planning, process improvement and organizational development.
- Familiarity with digital tools, platforms and data systems that enable operational efficiency.
- Strong communication skills with a high proficiency in oral and written English.
