Accounting and Finance Manager, North America

CM Biomass is strengthening its U.S. Finance organization and is looking for a Accounting and Finance Manage who will own core accounting, close, and compliance activities across U.S. entities while partnering closely with Operations and Group Finance. Our Finance teams play a critical role in supporting operational performance, transparency, and strong financial governance.
Your Responsibilities
Accounting & FP&A
Own and execute monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes in accordance with IFRS
Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
Ensure accurate inventory accounting, cost accounting, and production reporting for manufacturing sites
Lead and support physical inventory counts and inventory audits, including reconciliation to the general ledger
Act as a primary accounting contact for external auditors and support annual audits
Prepare budgets, forecasts, financial reporting packages, variance analysis, and supporting schedules for Group Finance
Prepare and coordinate CapEx business case plans, including financial analysis, assumptions, and supporting documentation
Support capital expenditure (CapEx) governance, including tracking approved projects versus actual spend
Tax Coordination & Compliance
Serve as primary liaison with external tax preparers for U.S. entities
Coordinate federal, state, and local tax filings
Support tax audits, notices, and information requests
Provide data and support for intercompany and transfer pricing matters
Banking, Payments & Internal Controls
Support banking and treasury activities, including account administration and coordination with banks
Review and approve payment runs and manual payments in accordance with Delegation of Authority
Ensure segregation of duties, documentation, and compliance with internal controls
Support maintenance and improvement of accounting policies and procedures
Corporate Governance & Entity Management
Ensure U.S. legal entities remain in good standing
Maintain LLC documentation, annual state filings, and registered agent requirements
Support entity formation, changes, or dissolutions in coordination with Legal and Group Finance
Process & Systems
Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and close efficiency
Act as a key user for D365 Finance and related reporting tools
Support automation and data quality initiatives
What You Bring
Degree in Finance, Accounting or similar
Typically, 4–6 years of experience, including public accounting and/or manufacturing environments
Strong understanding of IFRS, inventory accounting, and internal controls
Experience coordinating with external auditors, tax preparers, and banks
Hands-on, detail-oriented, and able to operate independently
ERP and BI experience preferred; D365 Finance is a plus

Location: Houston, TX (onsite Monday–Thursday, WFH Friday)
