Business Controller, North America
Are you looking for a finance role with real ownership, close proximity to operations and visible impact on the business?
CM Biomass is strengthening its U.S. Finance organization and is looking for a Business Controller who wants responsibility from day one and enjoys working where finance, operations and decision-making meet. In this role, you will act as a key finance partner to U.S. manufacturing sites and corporate stakeholders, supporting strong cost transparency, reliable reporting and insights that drive better decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Month-end and year-end reporting for U.S. entities
Participate in the preparation of consolidated reporting packages and ensure data accuracy
Prepare budgets, forecasts and variance analyses
Partner closely with Operations, Supply Chain, HR and Group Finance (Denmark)
Support manufacturing with cost accounting, inventory valuation and production reporting
Deliver performance and profitability analyses that create business value
Contribute to ad hoc analyses related to U.S. taxes, transfer pricing and BI
Help improve finance processes, reporting flows and data transparency
Support further development of D365 Finance and Power BI reporting
What Success Looks Like in Your First 6 Months:
Stable, timely and accurate U.S. month-end reporting and consolidation
Strong working knowledge of D365 Finance and Power BI
Clear, actionable insights used by stakeholders
Identified improvement opportunities in processes, data and reporting
Trusted relationships across Operations and Finance
What You Bring
Degree in Finance, Accounting or similar
Typically, 5–10 years of experience, including manufacturing/plant controlling
Strong hands-on experience with cost accounting and inventory
Comfortable working close to operations and production teams
Structured, analytical and collaborative working style
Advanced excel skills
BI or automation experience is a plus
Fluent English (spoken and written)

Location: Houston, TX (onsite Monday–Thursday, WFH Friday)
