Customer Service Agent
DP World’s Shipping Solutions is seeking a proactive and customer-focused Customer Service Agent to join its Customer Service team in Hamburg. This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in connecting global supply chains within a dynamic and international logistics environment.
In this position, you will act as a primary customer interface for shortsea container shipping services, ensuring smooth operations and high-quality service delivery across Europe.
About the Role
Working within the Customer Service Team – Multimodal Solutions (Shortsea), you will support core business operations by coordinating shipments, managing customer relationships and ensuring seamless cargo flow.
The role involves close collaboration with internal teams including operations, inland transport and commercial functions, as well as direct interaction with customers and agents. The focus is on delivering logistics services efficiently and professionally.
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Hamburg, offering exposure to international customers, complex operational processes and strong career development opportunities within a global organization.
The team consists of 17 members and 2 managers. The role reports to the Customer Service Supervisor and the Customer Service Manager for Central Europe.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customers, ensuring timely and professional communication
Manage bookings and order fulfillment with accuracy and adherence to deadlines
Coordinate end-to-end cargo flow across sea, truck, and rail transport modes
Resolve customer and operational issues to maintain service continuity
Ensure accurate handling of customer data, documentation, and invoicing
Collaborate closely with internal departments such as operations, equipment control, finance, and sales
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying challenges and proposing solutions

Candidate Profile

Additionally, you are expected to:
Have experience in customer service within logistics and transport
Possess an understanding of sea and inland transport processes (truck/rail knowledge is an advantage)
Demonstrate strong multitasking and coordination skills
Be proficient with IT systems, booking platforms, and Microsoft Office tools
Show accuracy, attention to detail, and a solution-oriented mindset
Remain resilient under pressure while maintaining a high standard of customer service
Communicate clearly and confidently in English (German is a strong advantage)
