We are looking for a Business Development Director with a solid understanding of the renewable sector and the key players in North America. You will become part of our team with offices in Portland, Oregon, but we also offer the option to work remotely from any location in the U.S.

Your Role
Our Business Development Director will be responsible for identifying potential customers and establishing the relationship needed to execute opportunities for SCADA International’s Software and Control solutions. To achieve this, you will need to have a strong understanding of the owners/operators of renewable energy businesses and the challenges they are facing in different operational scenarios in the North American market.
The role will require the ability to analyze, penetrate, and navigate large, multilayer organizations and identify their business- and compliance needs across many different stakeholders and decision-makers. Basic knowledge about SCADA systems and data flows is a significant advantage, but you will be backed by our SCADA Specialists to help convert technical customer requirements into the optimal solution design.
Your main responsibilities as our Business Development Director will be to:
• identify and analyze new potential customers and customer segments.
• taking the lead on all aspects of the sales process.
• own customer and development of customer size and “share of wallet”.
• represent SCADA International at trade fairs and other relevant events across the region to strengthen our brand and product positioning in the North American region.
You should expect approximately 40-60 traveling days per year in this position.
Your Background
We are looking for a strong commercial profile with technical flair and a structured approach.
The person who fits this position needs to have experience from the renewable energy market and have an innovative, entrepreneurial, commercial mindset and the ability to understand and explain how a complex product portfolio can be applied to meet the needs of our customers. We expect that you hold a relevant academic degree, combined with 5+ years of commercial experience within the industry, ideally within renewable energy, to join us with an in-depth knowledge of the business, markets, and stakeholders. Most importantly, you easily understand customers’ business landscape and ‘modus operandi’ and can convert these into solutions that benefit both our customers’ businesses and our footprint.
