Technical Sales Director for Operations & Asset Management - SCADA International

We are looking for a Technical Sales Director with a solid understanding of the renewable sector and the key players in North America. You will become part of our US team, and we offer the option to work remotely from any location in the U.S. in the EST and CST time zones.

Your role
Together with the commercial team, our Technical Sales Director will be responsible for growing the US market by establishing robust customer relationships and executing opportunities for SCADA International’s Software and Control solutions. To achieve this, you will need to bring your technical knowledge, preferably from the wind energy and/or solar/PV industry, to provide top-of-the-line consulting to customers and provide engineered solutions that meet their needs. Additionally, it’s crucial to have a solid understanding of the challenges renewable energy businesses are facing in different operational scenarios in the North American market.
The role will require the ability to navigate large, multilayer organizations and act upon business- and compliance needs across many different stakeholders and decision-makers. Extensive knowledge of SCADA systems and data flows is a requirement, and you will be supported by our SCADA Specialists to help convert technical customer requirements into the optimal solution design.
Your main responsibilities as our Technical Sales Director will be to:
- Build relationships with new and potential customers, such as utilities and IPPs, and customer segments.
- Consult with customers to understand their pains and convert them into solutions.
- Familiar with current pain points in asset management within renewable energy.
- Be a trustworthy and reliable technical partner for our business-critical offerings.
- Represent SCADA International at trade fairs and other relevant events across the region to strengthen our brand and product positioning in the North American region.
- Use CRM tools in daily sales activities.
You should expect approximately 50-70 travel days per year in this position.
Your background
We are looking for a strong technical profile with commercial flair and a structured approach to sales. The person who fits this position needs to have strong technical experience within operations and asset management in the renewable energy market and have an innovative, entrepreneurial, commercial mindset and the ability to deeply understand and explain how a complex product portfolio can be applied to meet the needs of our customers.
We expect that you hold a relevant academic degree, preferably in engineering, combined with 5+ years of technical experience within operations and asset management, ideally within wind energy and/or solar/PV, to provide in-depth knowledge of the product technology, markets, and stakeholders. Most importantly, you easily understand customers’ business landscape and ‘modus operandi’ for a diligent self-performing strategy and can convert these into solutions that benefit both our customers’ businesses and our footprint.
